This joint Royal Town Planning Institute and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport event will discuss how much we know about development effects triggered by transport investment and whether these are properly reflected in how we evaluate such schemes. The quest for the wider benefits of transport infrastructure investment was one of the ten points that the RTPI asked the incoming government to address, and Professor Knowles will examine what we know about these impacts, and how far their recognition could be reflected when assessing scheme priority.
