Following its successes in previous years, RSK is again hosting several free regional seminars on the environmental challenges currently facing the development industry across the UK.

The first of these will be held at Haydock Park Racecourse, Newton-le-Willows on Tuesday 5 November.

The seminar will take place between 10am and 1pm, and will include a presentation from guest speaker Steve Corcoran, chief executive officer of Speedy Hire.

Our 2013 seminars come at a time of increased optimism in the UK property sector. We are seeing house prices increase not just in the South East but also around the UK. At the same time, several new major commercial schemes are moving ahead. The environmental challenges facing developers remain as complex as ever along with the need to control risks and avoid cost overruns. As in previous years, we have brought together a series of topics looking at opportunities for controlling costs, reducing uncertainties and ensuring regulatory compliance. This year, we are dealing with topics as diverse as minimising landfill tax and using recycled materials, optimising remediation costs and biodiversity offsetting.

We hope to be able to welcome you at one of our seminars and that you will find the programme informative and useful. Please feel free to pass this invitation on to any colleagues who may also be interested in attending.

Each seminar counts for three hours of continuing professional development time. A personalised certificate will be sent to delegates after the seminar.
