Time: 9.30am – 1.00pm

North West social housing regeneration consortium, Procure Plus, will be hosting a series of free customer briefing sessions to raise awareness around key issues facing the social housing sector. The first session, 'Shining a Light on PV: Making the most for residents and landlords' will invite industry specialists to discuss their experiences in the solar photovoltaic energy market.

Taking place at the Manchester Central Library on 3rd February 2015, the session will encourage customers to share best practice examples, and explain how to minimise the risks presented by investment into PV on a large scale.

The event which will be hosted by David Kemp, sustainability manager at Procure Plus, has been created to support those with responsibility for housing, energy and environmental issues, in local authorities and social housing providers.

Confirmed speakers are: Robert Knowles (DECC FIT policy review group member and solar power industry specialist); Joe Keating (environmental & energy manager at Stockport Homes); Stephen Scully (business & product development manager at Solarking UK); Graham Smith (green operations director at Gentoo Group).

The panel will discuss a number of topics, including:

  • What are the drivers to invest in PV and the benefits of doing so?
  • Government policies, including carbon reduction targets
  • Supply chain issues and quality assessment criteria
  • Case studies detailing the implementation of PV

Following the speakers, attendees will have the opportunity to have their questions answered by the panel.
