Cllr Sue Derbyshire, leader of Stockport Council and chairman of the housing and planning commission at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, and Cllr Sean Anstee, leader of Trafford Council, will address this year’s residential sector conference organised by Place North West.

Anstee and Derbyshire will be joined by:

Sam Stafford, strategic land director at Barratt Developments, describing how the national housebuilder operates and views political and popular calls for more housing

Nick Lee, managing director of NJL Consulting, a prominent planning consultancy in the North, on the need for a new approach to drive actual delivery, versus merely consented planning applications

Rebecca Eatwell, deputy managing director of PPS Group, will present findings from PPS’s annual survey on housing as an electoral issue, and the current issues facing the process of winning planning approval

Grant Anderson, head of planning at law firm Hill Dickinson, senior advisor to developers, landowners and public sector clients in housing and regeneration

Attendees can expect in-depth discussion and presentations on the release of green belt land, problems with the Local Plan process, the development finance market, new legal powers around public assets, and the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework.

Join Place North West for this special event, hosted in association with PPS Group, Hill Dickinson and Edward Mellor. Place RESI 2016 is due to take place this year at Innside hotel, First Street, central Manchester, on Tuesday 1 March, with breakfast at 8am for an 8.30am start to proceedings and finishing with lunch at 12 noon.
