Over the last 12 months the government has re-stated its commitment to zero carbon development within the context of new policies emerging on economic growth and housing. At Nearer to Zero – Manchester 2012 the focus will be on the steps that need to be taken now to ensure that the delivery of zero carbon housing moves from ambition to reality.
The conference will explore in detail the definitions of zero carbon, costs and viability of building to very low and zero carbon standards, planned changes in the regulatory mechanisms and the emerging frameworks for Allowable Solutions. A key note speech will be provided by Communities and Local Government Minister Andrew Stunell OBE MP. Case studies and panel discussions will also provide the opportunity to interact with leading national experts and experienced speakers from across the planning and house building sector.
