May’s local elections are looming closer and the polls make grim reading for the Conservatives. Join Lexington’s team in Central Manchester for an evening of drinks and networking to explore what the results could mean for your business.

With local elections just a stone’s throw away, strategic engagement with local politicians is more important than ever. The electoral landscape is primed for change and, with elections occurring in 240 councils throughout England, thousands of councillors are going before the electorate.

In Greater Manchester, we usually see a third of seats contested, but with six local authorities undergoing ward boundary changes, there will be many more, which could mean greater changes.

Current polls suggest a significant change in fortunes for both major parties. A recent poll revealed Labour on 47% of the vote whilst the Conservatives trail on 25%. If the next general election follows this pattern, Labour will form the next Government with a thumping three-figure majority.

Join Lexington’s Labour parliamentary candidate Oliver Ryan alongside former conservative special adviser Emma Barr and Chris Curtis, head of political planning at top pollsters Opinium, for our pre-election event.

The event will feature an informal discussion about the possible outcome of local elections and how this may impact the national political landscape. The discussion will be followed by networking.
