Heritage: The Impact of PPS5

Date: 22 June 2011, 9:30 - 12:00

Location: Cunard Building, Liverpool

Email: beverley.watson@rtpi.org.uk

PPS5 sets out the Government's planning policies on the conservation of the historic environment. Published in March 2010 it is an overdue and streamlined replacement of Planning Policy Guidance that dated back to the early 1990's. This new policy statement is supported by a Practice Guide (PPS5: Historic Environment Planning Practice Guide) designed to help planners and built environment professionals with implementation of heritage policy. This seminar will therefore provide a timely opportunity to reflect on the new policy and examine the impact of both the new PPS5 and its supporting practice guide on heritage planning in the region during its first year of operation.

The training and continuing professional development service of the Royal Town Planning Institute North West Region. Delivered in partnership with the RTPI Accredited Planning Schools in the North West
