The North West Construction Knowledge Hub will mark the launch of CUBE's 'Brighter Futures' exhibition by hosting a debate on Green Lighting, which is being chaired by television presenter Fred Talbot.

CUBE is a partner of the University of Salford's School of the Built Environment.

The event will explore green lighting options and new lighting technologies, in particular solid state lighting, whilst highlighting the potential energy savings and significant reduction of carbon emissions.

The panel will be made up of a contractor, property developer, public sector project manager, designer, lighting specifier and lighting manufacturer. Each panel guest will give a short "elevator pitch" style introduction on their understanding of low-energy lighting and their own contribution, the chair will then pose a number of questions to the panel, concluding with an audience debate.

The North West Construction Knowledge Hub is a three year project funded by the European Regional Development Fund and North West Development Agency to assist small and medium construction companies in the region to improve their resource efficiency.

The free to attend event starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 8.30pm
