All businesses are dependent on their data and information stored in a variety of computing devices. These, including mobiles phones and tablets, offer a gateway into business critical systems. Recently, there have been several high profile security incidents involving well-known brands such as Talk Talk, Tesco Bank and Sage. Surprisingly, a large number of security incidents are “crimes of opportunity” caused by unsophisticated attacks. Basic security measures that are not complex to implement can provide protection against many common attacks. With this approach, this half day class will cover:

  • Cyber security concepts
  • Emerging threats
  • The human element in security
  • Securing digital access and information
  • Understanding security risk management
  • Introduction to the Cyber Essentials quality standard
  • Introduction to the ISO 27001 standard
