Please join FBE Manchester for this, the final chapter in Sir Howard’s inspirational 45-year career at Manchester City Council.

Once again and for the final time as chief executive, Sir Howard will give his annual address to FBE attendees after his announcement in September to retire by spring 2017.

Sir Howard was instrumental in Manchester securing the 2002 Commonwealth Games, which was the catalyst to the regeneration of east Manchester and unparalleled investment in sport and leisure facilities focused around the Etihad Campus.

He has played a leading role in the introduction and expansion of the Metrolink tram network. He was also involved in the establishment of Manchester Airport as a plc in the mid 80s and its ongoing expansion.

Sir Howard has been a key player in developing collaborative working relationships between the 10 Greater Manchester local authorities. He oversaw the establishment of the Greater Manchester Combined Authorities in 2011 and the development of the Northern Powerhouse initiative.

He has always been an advocate of FBE and its members so it is with great pleasure and sadness that this will be his final address to the group.

This event is always a sell-out so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets: £35 / free to members
