Health & wellbeing is increasingly important to business success. Whether it’s the physical and mental welfare of the people we work with, or the design of buildings and spaces we occupy, the built environment has an important role to play.
Yoga has a wide range of physical and wellbeing benefits and is an activity accessible to everyone no matter your age, size, or perceived level of fitness and mobility. So as we get back to normal and spend more time in the office, fbe Greater Manchester has teamed up with Manchester startup Yoga Republic to host a networking event with a difference.
Our teacher for the class will be Martin Ellerby, Chair of fbe Greater Manchester and founder of Yoga Republic.
Martin began practising yoga in his forties and during a sabbatical over the pandemic decided to undertake a 250-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher training course. Martin is passionate about the benefits of yoga and how it can make a positive impact on all our lives through increased strength and flexibility, calming of the mind, and improved focus in an increasingly on-demand world.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro who’s been around the mat a few times, or a beginner who doesn’t know your upward dog from your downward dog, Martin will calmly guide us through a 50-minute class accessible to all. Based on hatha and vinyasa yoga, the practice will combine movement with focussed breathing that will open up the body, build strength and calm the mind.
Martin regularly teaches classes that include complete beginners alongside more experienced yogis and will create a warm, welcoming environment that will allow all levels of ability to have an enjoyable practice.
The event will be held at Yoga Republic’s new pop-up studio on the 4th floor of 3 Hardman Square overlooking the Spinningfields business district. Mats and props will be provided and all you need to bring are some comfortable clothes and an open mind!
10% of all Yoga Republic’s class income at 3 Hardman Square is donated to Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
The Yoga Republic studio accommodates 20 people, early booking is recommended.
