They work collaboratively to provide facilities that can evolve and adapt to changing market dynamics, including fluctuations in costs, values, sales rates and timelines.
- LYNNE RIDSDALE, BURY COUNCIL | Lynne is CEO of Bury Council and GM portfolio lead for Police and Crime. Lynne led the development of the Bury community strategy – LETS do it! – a call for public, private and community sectors to work together and improve the lives of local people. Behind this, Bury has a c£200m regeneration programme across all of its principal townships and a housing pipeline with the potential to deliver 1000 new units each year. The challenge is, of course, funding viability gaps and delivery capacity. Lynne is not a development professional herself but is interested in the people and communities aspects of regeneration. Bury is now making great in-roads into social value through its development programmes, at the heart of a new economic development strategy. It has a proactive business leaders’ group and ambitious joint ventures with Bruntwood and Muse.
