Speaker: Patrick Waterhouse, Bowdon Consulting

Patrick advises clients, contractors and consultants on all aspects of contracts including tender documentation, certification, claims and dispute resolution. Patrick is an ICE Panel Adjudicator & ICE Panel Mediator/Conciliator.

This course builds on the introductory course and provides a detailed analysis of the NEC's more important clauses. This course has been designed for those working with the contract to process communications, early warnings, payments and compensation events.

The tutor will highlight the problem areas of the contract and explain how parties can best protect their own commercial position whilst complying with their obligations.

Course attendees will be able to tackle case studies based on real life projects allowing them to reinforce their learning.

Good practice will be highlighted and formal dispute resolution will be explained, particularly with regard to the records that should be kept throughout the contract.

Who will benefit?

It is desirable that those wishing to attend this course have already completed the introductory course on the NEC 3 and/or have experience of its use. Without such a background, this course is unlikely to be of benefit.
