Primesite begins student schemes
Primesite Developments is now on site at its first multi-million pound student accommodation scheme.
The Pimbo-based firm has begun work on the delivery of White Lion Halls in Bolton and Lomax Halls in Stoke.
The works are part of a wider £14.1m project to build a total of 290 bedrooms in Bolton, Stoke and Luton.
The buildings will feature en suite facilities to each of the bedrooms, and communal kitchens and social spaces. Once complete, the student accommodation will be operated by Primesite Developments.
Bobbie Johnson, director of Primesite Developments, said: "Our rooms are larger than the average student halls room size at 135 sq ft.
"With the rise in student fees, universities have to work harder to attract students. Increasingly they are updating their estates and improving the quality of accommodation facilities on offer. This is proving to be a very lucrative arm of our business, and one which we are keen to grow. We are already submitting plans to develop a further four schemes in the North West."
White Lion Halls in Bolton and Lomax Halls in Stoke are due for completion in September 2013.
The principal contractor on the project is Absolute Construction. The architect is KDP Architects.
