X1 projects top list at Salford planning meeting
Two residential schemes from X1 Developments have been recommended for approval at Salford City Council’s next planning meeting, including a block next to the £700m Middlewood Locks.
Designed by DK Architects, X1 The Landmark would be built on the corner of Liverpool Street and Oldfield Road, and total 191 apartments. The flats are targeted at the high-end market, with one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and duplex townhouses with private terraces.
The building steps from five to 14 storeys.
At the same meeting on Thursday 15 June, the council is set to approve the second phase of X1’s The Campus development on Frederick Street. Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the 10-storey block will sit next to the eight-storey first phase, and will total 76 studio flats for students. The plot is currently occupied by a two-storey office, Irwell House.
The applicant for the scheme is Vermont Property Development, the main contractor on The Campus, as well as other X1 projects including four towers at MediaCityUK.
A 65,000 sq ft warehouse by Barnfield Construction at Agecroft Commerce Park is also expected to get planning permission.
