Wythenshawe housing provider to get new CEO

Nick Horne is due to retire at the end of April, bringing an end to more than six years with Wythenshawe Community Housing Group.

Horne, who joined WCHG in 2019, will be replaced in the interim by Simon Morris, the organisation’s director of finance.

“It has been a privilege to serve as chief executive, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together,” Horne said.

“I’m grateful to colleagues across the organisation for their dedication and commitment to our customers and communities.”

In the latter part of his tenure, Horne has overseen the development of plans for 420 new homes as part of the £500m regeneration of Wythenshawe town centre.

He added that he leaves WCHG in a “position of robust financial resilience, strong operational performance and a great customer-centric culture”.

“I’m also pleased to be handing over to Simon, who knows the organisation well, and I’m confident the team will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership.”

Prior to joining WCHG, Horne was chief executive at Knightstone Housing Association in the Bristol area for almost 20 years. He holds a range of non-executive director roles, and is chair of the Manchester Housing Providers Partnership, a group of 20 registered providers that manage a combined 70,000 homes across Manchester.

Simon Morris, executive director of finance, said: “I’m honoured to take on the role of interim chief executive and to continue the great work that Nick has led during his time as chief executive.

“I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to build on that strong foundation and continuing to deliver for our customers and communities.”
