WYG among winners on £6m University framework
Five consultants, including WYG and Life Environmental Services, have been named on the University of Manchester’s consultancy framework for services including asbestos and demolition surveys, air monitoring, and clearance testing.
The University has chosen Airborne Environmental Consultants, Environmental Essentials, Life Environmental Services, Santia Asbestos Management, and WYG for the two-year framework, which has the option to run for an additional two years.
The University said the scope of each consultants’ work will be decided on a “project-by-project” basis, with asbestos surveying required for any refurbishment and demolition works across its estate.
Overall, the framework is expected to be worth £6m.
Major demolition and renovation projects the University is currently working on include a £55m overhaul of its Business School on Oxford Road (pictured), which is being part-demolished to make way for both new teaching space and retail.
Mace is project manager for the scheme, which is due to complete in August next year.
