Wrexham’s Redwither Business Centre site sold with view to £5m redevelopment

Legat Owen has handled the sale of the four-acre site on which an office building sits at the heart of the city’s industrial estate.

The guide price for the Wrexham Council-owned site was £700,000, and it has been snapped up by an unnamed local property investor after a competitive tender process.

Planning permission is already in place for the demolition of the detached two-storey office building which measures 9,200 sq ft.

The buyer intends to clear the site to make way for a redevelopment investment worth £5m with a planning application expected to follow.

Director Mark Diaper, of the business space team at Legat Owen, said: “We had strong interest from the outset of marketing from both local occupiers and developers.

“The site is situated in a prominent position with frontage to Abbey Road and lends itself to a number of uses. It is the purchaser’s intention to demolish the redundant office building and move forward with a planning application for redevelopment.”

Wrexham Industrial Estate is home to more than 340 businesses creating employment for more than 10,000 people.
