Broadway Malyan rebrands planning service

Architecture and urban design Broadway Malyan has created a subsidiary company under a new brand for its planners, Nexus Planning.

Broadway Malyan said the name, which means a connected series or group, "reflects the role of planners in supporting development in today's complex planning and political environment."

In Manchester, Peter Tooher, director of planning, will head up Nexus' regional team. Nationally, head of planning Roger Tustain becomes managing director of the new subsidiary business. The practice's director of planning, Adam Ross, and director and UK residential design expert, Peter Crossley, will join the Nexus board. Roger Tustain and Peter Crossley will remain main board directors of Broadway Malyan.

There will be around 20 planners and regeneration experts working for Nexus based in central London, Manchester and Weybridge.

Broadway Malyan planners secured planning permission for the Barons Quay retail-led scheme in Northwich on behalf of Cheshire West & Chester Council.
