Work up for grabs as Vinci wins in Warrington

Vinci Construction is to hold a Meet the Buyer event on 4 September following its appointment as main contractor for £69.2m of work at Warrington’s Time Square.

Vinci will run a 123-week programme including demolition of existing buildings and construction of a Cineworld cinema, retail and restaurants, a 103,000 sq ft office building to be occupied by Warrington Council, and a new permanent market hall.

The £107m Time Square project is intended to revitalise Warrington’s retail core and Bridge Street area. Along with a new public square, it will deliver 40,000 sq ft of retail and 92,000 sq ft of leisure in total, comprising seven family restaurants and the cinema.

Muse Developments in the scheme’s development manager, with the Warrington & Co partnership driving the project on behalf of Warrington Council.

The first phases of Time Square are on-site, including the construction of a 25,500 sq ft retail shell, which will initially house the market while the new 42,000 sq ft market is being built, and later converted for general retail use. I&H Brown is under way on construction of a 1,160-space multi-storey car park.

The Meet the Buyer event will take place at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Firms interested in attending should contact Vinci by 1 September.
