Women in Property appoints chair for 2026/27
Louise Emmott, managing director of Kingsdene, will head the North West branch for the next year, starting from 1 March.
Emmott has been on the WiP North West committee for three years, and has built up more than 20 years of experience in the residential agency and consultancy sector.
She said: “I am honoured to be appointed branch chair, to help guide our regional team and members. The organisation’s ethos is all about prioritising and empowering people, as we seek to improve gender parity in the industry, while working towards a more inclusive and understanding society.
“Our committee here in the North West is formed of member volunteers, all industry professionals, who focus their spare time and energy on Women in Property’s core initiatives, including schools outreach, inclusion and our mentoring programme.
“We have a fantastic multi-disciplinary network, which is a real USP for Women in Property, and a great opportunity to promote a cross-fertilisation of ideas, through our CPD accredited events and networking.”
Emmott launched new homes sales, residential lettings and management agency Kingsdene in June 2023. There are now 21 property professionals working in the business.
She continued: “Our branch also includes a NextGen subcommittee, dedicated to providing an environment for young people to network and make the early friends and connections that support the growth of our future industry leaders.
“Women in Property is a great place to build a long-term support network, providing an inclusive, welcoming, low-pressure environment, as well as offering opportunities you might not normally get – including site visits and topical talks with insights from industry leaders.”
Emmott will be supported in the role by vice chair Catalina Ionita, a senior architect with Chapman Taylor, who also takes on the role from 1 March.
This is set to be a big year for the North West branch, which will host WiP’s national conference, the People-Innovation-Place Summit in Manchester on 23 April – this is open to members and non-members, of all genders, from across the UK.
The day will include panel discussions, fireside chats, creative workshops and walking tours showcasing Manchester and Salford. The topic for the day is Inspiring Innovation.
Other national initiatives for 2026 include partnership panel discussions at UKREiiF in May and development of a new Future Industries programme, targeting young people, to encourage more industry entrants from diverse backgrounds.
