Winners of North West Regional Construction Awards revealed
Morgan Sindall claimed the coveted Contractor of the Year award at the ceremony, which celebrates excellence in the construction industry.
Around 400 people attended the North West Regional Construction Awards on Friday at the Hilton Hotel in Machester. The party included a three-course meal, dancing, and roving magicians. The event also saw participants raise money for Cure Parkinson’s, a charity focussed on funding research into the neurological disease.
The North West Regional Construction Awards is hosted by Constructing Excellence in the North West, the School of Science, Engineering, Environment at the University of Salford, and the Centre for Construction Innovation.
For head judge and University of Salford professor Peter McDermott, NWRCA has helped encourage the construction industry to improve and innovate.
“The Construction Awards in my view have played a significant role in showcasing and demonstrating the positive and progressive change in the sector, providing a safe space in what is still a highly fragmented and highly competitive industry,” he told the crowd.
After the event, McDermott made a point to congratulate all the companies that won as well as those who were short-listed. He also wished well those regional winners who will now compete in the national Constructing Excellence Awards in London on 15 November.
