Westchurch proposes St Helens canalside homes 

The 66-home scheme would be constructed on part of the former St Helens Glass Co site. 

Westchurch Homes wants to redevelop the 2.2-acre Atlas Street plot to deliver a three-storey apartment block featuring 24 flats, and 42 three-storey townhouses. 

The site is sandwiched between Torus’ St Helens office and the affordable housing provider’s Foundry Wharf scheme. 

The 100% affordable project is designed by View Associates and Pegasus Group is advising Westchurch on planning matters. 

The site was originally earmarked for redevelopment into offices as part of the third phase of a commercial development brought forward by Nextdom. Earlier phases of the development included the building now operated by Torus and Atlas House next door. 

JO Real Estate marketed the site for sale in 2021 with a guide price of £2m.
