Westchurch, Jigsaw table plans for Openshaw homes

Proposals for 71 affordable properties off Louisa Street in the Manchester suburb have been lodged with the city council.

Westchurch Homes and Jigsaw Homes want to build 42 apartments and 29 houses on a 2.2-acre site previously occupied by an iron foundry.

The developers plan for the scheme to be 100% affordable, subject to securing Homes England grant funding.

The apartments would be available for affordable or social rent and the houses would be available for shared ownership.

From Summer 2022 all Westchurch Homes will be built to meet the new building regulations and will contain zero gas, according to a planning statement by Euan Kellie Property Solutions.

Each home would be fitted with air-source heat pumps and constructed with improved insulation.

View Associates is the architect for the project and Stephen Levrant is advising on heritage. SK Transport is advising on highways and Trevor Bridge Associates is the landscape architect.

The planning application reference number for the project is 134775/FO/2022.
