Weightmans hires Berrymans partner

Law firm Weightmans LLP has recruited partner Sandra Jones from Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP to the property dispute and insurance team within its Manchester office.

Jones, who qualified in 1993, specialises in property damage, construction and engineering disputes. She leaves Berrymans after seven years with the firm.

Roddy MacLeod, head of commercial insurance at Weightmans, said: "Sandra is a highly committed practitioner so I am thrilled to welcome her to the team. Her area of expertise will sit well within our current dispute resolution and insurance offering."

Weightmans recently acquired the insurance practice of Vizards Wyeth on 1 April 2011 and is due to merge with North West firm Mace & Jones on 1 May 2011.
