Waxi firm launches MediaCity service
Manchester Water Taxis will on Monday launch its new route, between MediaCityUK and Spinningfields, simultaneously announcing a tie-in with locally-based yachting-led fashion brand Henri Lloyd.
Henri Lloyd will supply the Waxi the team with technical marine clothing, while the boat running to MediaCity will be named The Henri Lloyd. Services will run between the Alchemist MediaCityUK and the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel , close to Spinningfields, in under 30 minutes.
Steven Cadwell, founder of Manchester Water Taxis, said: “This additional route has been put in place to meet the demands of people wanting to travel between the hugely popular MediaCityUK at Salford Quays and Spinningfields, central Manchester.
“It’s something that will appeal to a lot of people who want a different way to travel between both locations for either work or leisure. We know our roads are getting more and more congested, and more people are seeking alternative forms of transport.
“The Henri Lloyd waxi not only offers a practical solution but also one which is a fun and relaxing alternative to sitting on a tram, bus or in the back of a taxi.”
The firm launched its services last November and now runs services on various routes involving Sale, Castlefield, Old Trafford and the Trafford Centre.
