Wardell Armstrong opens city centre base

Environmental consultancy Wardell Armstrong has opened an office in Manchester, to service clients in the North West in addition to its branch in Leigh, Wigan.

Wardell Armstrong has relocated staff from Leigh, including technical director Adrian Rigby, who will head up the office on King Street. He will be assisted by technical director Martin Hastie, also from Leigh, alongside Frank Hayes, a planner, and Mike Bryant and James Richardson, senior ecologists, who have all relocated from Stoke.

The consultancy has also hires Nicola Phillips as principal landscape architect, who will be based in the Manchester office. Ann Arkwright provides administrative support.

The new office comes as part of an expansion plan that has resulted in a number of new Wardell Armstrong offices over the last 12 months, and relocation to larger premises for others.

Rigby said: “Manchester is currently experiencing increased activity in the built environment, and we see this as the perfect time to establish a permanent base in town. Our new city centre office is conveniently located for clients and employees alike. We are looking forward to being part of the thriving business community in Manchester.”

The multi-disciplinary firm provides professional support to clients from planning stage through to construction and aftercare. Business development will be a strong focus for the team in Manchester, across its environmental, ground engineering, civils and planning and environmental impact assessment services.

Wardell Armstrong’s Manchester office is at 76 King Street, Manchester.
