Walker Sime expands with new Liverpool office

Walker Sime, the growing quantity surveyor practice, is setting up an office in Liverpool to meet demand from clients outside its Manchester heartland.

The company was set up in Manchester in 2000 and has recently secured a number of major new contracts in Liverpool including No.1 Dale Street for Bruntwood, Silkhouse Court with Commercial Estates and Maghull Developments' Hope Street portfolio.

"A lot of our work is starting to take us away from our base in Manchester," director Derek Walker said. "And we can still service this from Manchester but there are now so many projects coming forward in and around Liverpool and Merseyside that it makes sense to be integral with the local business community there too."

Matthew Newton heads up a team of four initially in the Liverpool office in Stanley Hall on Edmund Street.

Walker Sime specialises in project management, quantity surveying, commercial management and business relocation.

Walker added: "The Liverpool team will be added to in the New Year as the office grows. We have already picked up new commissions with Bruntwood to assist in their capital spend as well as opportunities to work with the Liverpool teams of our existing clients.

"Other sectors we are keen to expand within our Liverpool office are contract procurement and commercial management for the utilities sectors."
