Wain Homes submits plans for 137 Preston homes

Described as an “unremarkable parcel of former farmland”, a 13-acre site off J1 of the M55 and J32 of the M6 is earmarked for a mix of houses and apartments.

Wain Homes has submitted plans to build 137 homes on the site, located north of Preston city centre and south-east of Broughton.

The scheme would feature one-, two-, and three-bed properties, with 41 designated as affordable.

Wain Homes’ site, known as Boyes Farm, would be accessed via of D’Urton Lane and is located next to a 250-home Laurus development which is nearing completion.

Hourigan Connolly is advising on planning and MCK Associates is leading on design. To learn more, search for reference number 06/2025/1266 on Preston City Council’s planning portal.

Wain Homes is part of Wain Group, which recently secured a fresh £140m facility with NatWest and Lloyds.

Can we shove any more houses in this area? Wain Homes says yes! What a brilliant example of how to completely ruin a once nice area: Tonnes of houses piled next to motorways. Joke!

Black Rose, the developer is simply wanting to build homes where the Council has said they want them to go

It was a remarkable piece of land and a lovely area once. That is untill PCC gave permission for all the new builds.

NIMBY Hunter. Thanks for the help. I’m still allowed to say that I think the area has been ruined though.
