Vision secures sponsor for Liverpool base

The first sponsorship deal for the second phase of the Liverpool 'embassy' in London has been secured.

Tender Management Consultancy, based in The Plaza in Old Hall Street, Liverpool city centre, has signed up to a £5,000 sponsorship of the Liverpool office based in the Grade 2-listed listed Royal Mint Court, opposite Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.

Tender Management Consultancy provides tender management services with an aim at identifying opportunities and developing documents and pitches for its clients to win contracts.

Last month, Liverpool Vision announced the public-private sector collaboration to promote Liverpool to London investors would continue operating until spring 2013.

The embassy was previously based in New Broad Street, in the heart of London's financial district from January until the end of July.

Vision, the city's economic development company partnering Liverpool City Council to deliver the embassy project, moved towards securing a more suitable and cheaper long term location for Liverpool's presence in London at Royal Mint Court.

The new base is a few minutes' walk from Tower Hill underground, Tower Gateway Docklands Light Railway and five minutes from Fenchurch Street Station and Liverpool Street Station.

Vision said Tender Management Consultancy's sponsorship of Liverpool's London office provides a range of benefits including: a hot desk; access to the boardroom half a day a week; access to the events space for one large event and training seminar; branding presence; invitations to all Liverpool Vision-led events in London.

Jim Williams, managing director of Tender Management Consultancy, said: "I have been working with Liverpool Vision since June 2008, following a successful start-up grant application of £500. Since then, the Liverpool Vision team has supported my company through various successful initiatives and business advice. And our business has grown.

"Supporting the London mission will mean it will grow further through access to larger networks and strategic business advice and targeted meetings. This is a big investment for us, but the decision was made because of the confidence we have in Liverpool Vision's team and the successful work Liverpool is already doing in London.

"As a result of our support, we aim to win new business in London whilst introducing London clients to invest in Liverpool businesses."

Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, which is leading the Liverpool in London project, added: "Their support comes at an important time as we enter a new phase of our London work and it is a clear endorsement of what we have been achieving in London since the start of the year.

"The London office is part of a wider mission to sell the city in a more co-ordinated and compelling way and I am convinced that our collective work is succeeding in ensuring perceptions about Liverpool are fully informed and up to date and this must continue. I urge others to support us and help ensure the city's future prosperity."
