VIDEO PODCAST | Charting Salford’s rise as a regional force

The strength of brand Manchester, a proactive local authority, and a culture that encourages open and honest discussions among partners are among the keys to Salford’s growth over the last decade, according to Salboy managing director Simon Ismail and Euan Kellie, company director at Euan Kellie Property Solutions.

The pair sat down with Place North West deputy editor Dan Whelan to reflect on the last 10 years of Salford’s regeneration story and look ahead at what comes next.

The long-time collaborators have worked on various projects together across the city, including Local Blackfriars, which Ismail says is his favourite scheme, and the redevelopment of Castle Irwell in Charlestown.

“It is a phenomenon what has gone on here over the last 15 years,” Ismail said, reflecting on the speed of development in Manchester and Salford.

During the podcast, Kellie and Ismail explore why Salford has been able to grow at such a rapid rate, reflect on the schemes they have worked on together, and ponder where the city is heading next.
