VIDEO | Parc Snowdonia’s Hilton on track for winter opening
Construction of the envelope around the 106-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn at Adventure Parc Snowdonia is now complete, and work is starting this week on internal walls, along with the mechanical and electrical fit out.
HH Smith & Sons has been on site since July building what is claimed to be one of the largest hotels in North Wales, on the edge of the inland surf lagoon at Conwy Valley.
The single-storey steel works are due to complete imminently, and the first of 250 windows are being installed.
Designed by Pozzoni, the 106-bedroom, four-storey hotel is due to open in winter 2020, and would be the first Hilton Garden Inn in Wales.
Facilities at the hotel include a wellbeing spa, corporate conference and meeting facilities, and a restaurant overlooking the surf lagoon.
The Hilton Garden Inn is part of a £16m expansion of Adventure Parc Snowdonia, which included the construction of adventure facility Adrenaline Indoors which opened last summer. A pump track and adventure playground is also due to be completed in time for the start of the new surf season in April.
The investment comes from Martin Ainscough’s Ainscough Group, owner of the Dolgarrog destination, which is looking to double the size of the park’s workforce by expanding its activities and facilities.
The park opened in 2015 featuring a 300-metre surf lagoon and associated amenities. The five-storey Adrenaline Indoors activity centre was an expansion of an existing facility.
