United Living submits plans for Salford PRS scheme

United Living and Triangle Architects have put in plans for a 125-home private rented sector development in Salford.

The developer contractor has lodged the designs for a mixed six and nine-storey building on the site of the former Dulux Centre in Douglas House on Liverpool Street.

The Dulux Centre, as well as the neighbouring Sheldon’s Tyre Centre, will both be demolished to make way for the scheme.

United Living, which is working in partnership with North East developer The High Street Group on the project, had originally planned a mixed 12 and 10-storey building on the site.

Following a pre-application consultation, the height of the development has been reduced to six and nine storeys respectively, while two-storey, two-bed townhouses have also been added to the proposals.

In total, the development will include 63 one-bedroom apartments, 37 two-bedroom apartments, 20 two-bedroom townhouses and two three-bedroom townhouses.

It neighbours X1’s The Landmark development, a £31m 191-home project, which is being built by Forrest.
