Uni puts Mossley Hill plot up for sale

There is likely to be strong interest in eight acres of prime residential land in an affluent area of South Liverpool being brought to market by the University of Liverpool.

Acting on behalf of the university, CBRE’s land and development team has been instructed to sell Dale Hall, a cluster of five student accommodation buildings that closed in 2014.

The site in Elmswood Road is part of the Carnatic student village and sits within a conservation area.

The land has now become surplus to the university’s requirements and CBRE is inviting offers by 12 noon on Friday 22 July 2016 on a subject to detailed planning basis.

CBRE has prepared a detailed appraisal of the site following discussions with Liverpool City Council to reach an agreed position on the main principles of an indicative scheme layout for new homes.

Bernadette McQuillan, director, CBRE Manchester, said: “We are pleased to bring to market Dale Hall, providing potential developers with a unique opportunity to transform what is currently a redundant campus into a high quality development to blend seamlessly with the character of the locality. Given the site’s positioning in one of Liverpool’s most exclusive suburbs, Dale Hall lends itself ideally to the development of new homes and we are looking forward to entering into discussions with interested parties following the 22 July.”

The redundant halls are close to the Greenbank halls of residence where architect Sheppard Robson is part of a team redeveloping the halls to provide 1,370 rooms in seven blocks.
