Uni opens bids for small contracts framework
The University of Manchester is looking for 17 contractors to work as part of a £175m construction framework to deliver projects up to the value of £10m.
The framework will be divided into four lots; up to £199,000, up to £999,999, up to £3.9m and up to £9.9m.
Projects will include demolition, new build, refurbishment, decoration, landscaping and internal works.
The Construction Works Framework 2016 will last for four years.
In June Balfour Beatty, Laing O’Rourke and Sir Robert McAlpine were selected by the University to deliver the bulk of its £1bn estates programme, for capital projects valued at in excess of £10m.
The contractors will work on a number of major developments, including the £350m Manchester Engineering Campus Development, designed by Dutch architect Mecanoo, which will bring together the university’s four Schools of Engineering in one location and also provide teaching and office space.
The deadline for receipt of tenders is 11 January 2016 at noon.
