Tushingham Moore hires partner with south-facing prospects

Retail surveyor Tushingham Moore has recruited a director from London-based rival Leslie Furness as it positions itself for a push into the south of England.

Richard Lyons, 36, joins the Manchester-based specialist agency as partner with a remit that initially includes advising Modus Properties on its new shopping centre developments at Friars Walk in Newport and Delamere Place in Crewe. He will also oversee major High Street and shopping centre disposals for clients including Thomas Cook / Going Places, Clintons / Birthdays and KFC.

Lyons said: "As the firm continues to expand, we will be working towards a longer term objective to increase our presence in the south of England."

Lyons' appointment takes the total number of partners at Tushingham Moore to 15.

He added: "Tushingham Moore is very much regarded as the foremost niche retail advisor outside of London and provides me with an unrivalled opportunity to be involved with a raft of high quality instructions thoughout the country."

In his previous job, Lyons was involved with various shopping centre instructions including Fremlin Walk, Maidstone, Willow Place, Corby and West 12, Shepherds Bush advising landlord clients including Land Securities, Edinburgh House Estates and Centros Miller.

David Moore, of Tushingham Moore, said: "Richard's appointment underlines Tushingham Moore's standing as one of the UK's leading shopping centre, High Street retail and leisure property advisors. Richard brings a wealth of experience to the table and will further strengthen our specialism in the retail sector and commitment to service excellence."
