Travelodge publishes target list

Travelodge wants to open seven more hotels in Greater Manchester, the hotel chain said as it opened its latest at Orbit Developments’ Citygate on Cross Street in Sale.

Manchester Sale Travelodge, a £4m 67-room office conversion, is the company’s 533th hotel. The group has 18 Travelodge hotels in Greater Manchester and is looking for new hotel sites in Manchester city centre, where it wants another two, as well as in Cheadle, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan and Worsley or Swinton.

Nichola Stevens, Travelodge regional director, said: “The Greater Manchester economy is growing at pace and our new office conversion hotel in Sale, adds a great value option for visiting business and leisure travellers. We now operate 18 hotels across the county but with increasing visitor numbers to the area, there is still a shortage of good quality accommodation at a great value price.”
