Trafford recruits director of development from CWAC

Clare Huber has joined the Greater Manchester council from Cheshire West and Chester Council, where she was senior manager of construction, regeneration major projects and markets.

In her previous role, Huber was the lead on the Northgate project.

As the director of development at Trafford Council, Huber will be involved in key projects including Trafford’s 135-acre Civic Quarter. The masterplan for Civic Quarter calls for more than 4,000 homes and 500,000 sq ft of employment space in the area.

Already, early parts of that scheme are starting to take shape, with Trafford Council teaming up with Greater Manchester Combined Authority to plot a gateway development with more than 750 homes, offices, food hall and hotel on the nine-acre site of the old Greater Manchester Police headquarters.

Huber said she was happy to join Trafford Council “at such an exiting time”.

“There are a huge number of incredible development projects in the pipeline for Trafford and I am looking forward to bringing many of them to life,” Huber said.
