Together pulls trigger on £8m Cheadle HQ project
Barnfield Construction has been appointed to build a 6,700 sq ft link connecting the lender’s two properties at Cheadle Royal Business Park in Stockport.
Lakeside and Lake View will be made into one 120,000 sq ft building once the £8m, three-storey project completes next summer.
The scheme aims to provide a more modern work environment for staff and “underlines” Together’s commitment to Cheadle Royal Business Park, where it has been located since 2012, the firm said.
The link building will feature a double-height lobby, new business lounge, a boardroom, gym, and various breakout spaces.
Richard Rowntree, chief executive at Together, said: “This is the largest transformation of our working environment since Together moved to its current headquarters in 2012.
“Our colleagues are our most important asset and it’s crucial to provide them with the state-of-the art facilities and a modern, accessible workplace, to make sure they have the best possible working environment.
He added: “We are one of the UK’s largest specialist lenders with a loan book of nearly £8bn and this latest project underlines not only our commitment to Cheadle Royal Business Park but the wider, thriving commercial property market in Greater Manchester.”
Stockport Council granted Bracken House Property Group, which owns Together’s Stockport headquarters, planning permission for the scheme in 2023.
The scheme was designed by 5plus Architects with Eden Planning and Development advising on planning. At present the project team features architect C4 Projects, XO Square, Artal, Speakman Contractors, and Assent.

Increased head count, loss of car parking spaces, added misery for local residents struggling to access their own street due to irresponsible parking by business park overflow. Even the Council’s highways
officer commented on it in the planning docs… but yet it’s approved with the promise of car sharing – which we all know’s not likely.
