Thrive plots Burnley mill conversion
Co-working space provider Thrive has outlined plans to convert a canal-side 19th century mill in Burnley into an 11,600 sq ft office.
The developer has submitted a planning application and change of use for the building on 80 Manchester Road, which forms part of the wide Weavers Triangle conservation area and was purchased by Thrive in December last year.
Plans for the building include 19 suites ranging from 145 sq ft to 615 sq ft in size, while original features including exposed brickwork will be retained. There will also be meeting rooms, a reception, break-out areas and showers.
Subject to planning, Thrive is aiming to have the office open by the autumn, and managing director Matthew Settle said the Burnley building formed part of a wider regional expansion.
“We aim to grow Thrive considerably over the next six months, in addition to the Mill we have plans to open at Bolton, Blackburn, Oldham, Cheadle and Widnes as well as having operations in Blackpool, South Yorkshire, and the North East in the pipeline,” he said.
The developer already has sites in Wigan, Warrington, and Newton-le-Willows.
