Third tenant in at Foundry
A third unit at Capital & Centric’s Foundry in Salford has been sold, to travel company Invasion for use as its offices and also a co-working space designed by Sheila Bird Group.
Opposite the grade one-listed Ordsall Lane, the 47,000 sq ft Foundry development, which totals £10m of new investment, consists of 12 business units and new a public boulevard connecting Ordsall Lane to the River Irwell.
Capital & Centric worked with Salford City Council to bring the speculative development forward. The 4.5-acre site was acquired in 2015.
Invasion is the third tenant to move into the scheme. The company has taken 3,700 sq ft, taking the total sold at Foundry to 18,500 sq ft. Foundry Film Studios and Outstanding Beers are already in occupation. All other units are understood to be under offer.
Atul Bansul, founder of Sheila Bird Group said: “Foundry is a fantastic business space and Capital & Centric have created something quite special and individual, which certainly gave us the opportunity to let our imaginations run wild. The waterside setting is great and has allowed us to ship in a ginormous pineapple tree.
“The height of the unit and lack of typical office features allowed us to look at the space differently, which was important for the Invasion team as they didn’t want to conform and just create another ‘wacky/cool’ office.”
