Taylor Wimpey Kelsall scheme approved

The housebuilder has been granted planning permission for the development of 89 homes in Flat Lane in Kelsall, Cheshire.

The scheme will include 31 affordable properties, public open space and pedestrian links between the site and existing local facilities.

Manchester-based consultancy HOW Planning secured outline planning consent from Cheshire West & Chester Council for the project in November 2013 and has now secured detailed planning consent to enable the scheme to move to the construction phase.

HOW Planning is also advising Taylor Wimpey on the development of 650 homes at the former Whittingham Hospital site in Preston.

Matthew Robinson, planner at HOW, said: "Taylor Wimpey is making a positive move with these plans which will benefit the local area given the wider highway improvement works which will be implemented as part of the scheme. There is a need for high quality homes and the developer has a proven track record within the industry for delivering housing schemes such as this."
