Tandem fills Burnley’s former Argos
The investor has subdivided the 10,600 sq ft Canning Street store and let it to a car repair shop, a chicken restaurant, an angling supplies outlet, and a tanning salon.
Tandem Investments acquired the former Argos in Burnley in 2023 from a private pension fund for £900,000.
Deals for the space include 5,300 sq ft to Formula One Auto Centres on a 15-year lease and Lucky B’s Hot Chicken, which is due to open this September.
Angling Direct and Indigo Sun Retail have pre-let the remaining two units and will take occupation once the landlords works are complete later this year.
Tandem has also let six car parking spaces to EON for EV charging. Whiteacres advised on the deals.
Jonathan Wolstencroft, director at Whiteacres, said: “The lettings vindicate Tandem’s initial acquisition of the former Argos unit close to Burnley town centre.
“It’s a great achievement to have the scheme fully let prior to practical completion.”
Richard Rees, director at Tandem Investments, added: “We are thrilled to have made such a great success of what was one of our first acquisitions.
“The diversity of occupiers demonstrates the benefit of developing a flexible scheme with such good profile and proximity to a busy town centre.”
Whiteacres and Cheetham & Mortimer represented Tandem Investments.
Adept Consultancy UK represented Formula One Auto Centres and Angling Direct.
