Stuart Rimmer steps into leading Muse role

Having joined from Landsec, Rimmer is now the project director of the team bringing forward the Salford Crescent masterplan and the transformation of Eccles town centre.

Rimmer’s role is newly established, and his appointment will only add to the 59-strong team at Muse’s office at Riverside House in Salford.

He will lead on key Muse projects such as ECF’s £2.5bn Salford Crescent masterplan as well as the redevelopment of Eccles town centre, a job that Muse won last month.

Stuart Rimmer, project director at Muse, said: “I’m pleased to be joining the team and look forward to supporting Muse to continue to flourish in the North West.

“Over the years I have come to recognise the excellent placemaking work Muse has delivered in the region, and I am looking forward to working with the expert team and our partners to create a place-changing regeneration.”

Before joining Landsec, Rimmer spent almost 24 years working as project director for Peel L&P, applying his expertise to the then ongoing MediaCity development.

Muse hopes that Rimmer’s experience of mixed-use placemaking across a range of sectors, including commercial, retail, and residential, will help spearhead the delivery of Muse’s North West portfolio.

Stuart Rogers, director of project management at Muse North West, said: “[Rimmer] joins Muse with a wide breadth of experience and knowledge delivering projects across a range of sectors in the North West.

“His diverse portfolio will add real value to our team as we push forward with several mixed-use regeneration projects across the region.”

He continued: “[Rimmer’s] skills and insight into Salford will be invaluable as we progress our plans in the city and its surrounding areas. As a Salfordian himself, he will play a key role in ensuring we continue to create places the Salford community can be proud of.”

Muse is behind various large-scale schemes in the North West, particularly as part of ECF, a joint venture between Muse, Homes England, and L&G.

The developer has a portfolio including a £500m regeneration project in Wythenshawe and the addition of 2,000 homes to Oldham’s town centre.
