Stoford to start on Stone Cross industrial
Consent has been secured for two developments totalling more than 200,000 sq ft at a former Carlsberg depot in Golborne, Wigan.
Stoford Developments and investment manager Oxenwood Real Estate plan to develop the site at Stone Cross Depot, Yew Tree Way, into Stone Cross 136, a refurbishment and expansion of an existing building to create a 136,000 sq ft facility; and Stone Cross 72, a new-build 72,500 sq ft warehouse
Work is set to start in June 2019 and is expected to reach completion before the end of the year.

Stone Cross is an established and prime logistics location with an enviable line up of well-respected tenants.
“Our development of Stone Cross 72 and the refurbishment and extension of Stone Cross 136 will offer potential occupiers a choice of two new high specification industrial/warehouse units with outstanding connectivity in a region that has a shortage of available stock. We are anticipating considerable demand for these new units.”

Stone Cross Park sits within the wider Stone Cross employment area, which extends to 79 acres and is around six miles south of Wigan. The site is adjacent to the A580 East Lancs Road in Golborne, around two miles from junction 23 of the M6.
The former Carlsberg depot has remained vacant since being closed in February 2018, after 20 years in operation. It was acquired by Oxenwood Real Estate in November last year. Stoford has completed more than 12 million sq ft of industrial development in the UK to date.
