Stoford recommits to Stonebridge

Stoford Developments and Gallan Group have confirmed that they will continue with plans to build 1.2 million sq ft of warehouses at Stonebridge Cross, after progress was paused while Everton FC decided whether to relocate its stadium to the site.

Everton FC has now confirmed that it will build its new home at Peel’s Bramley Moore Dock.

The 55-acre site at Stonebridge Cross is owned by Liverpool City Council, with Stoford gaining planning permission in 2014 for 1.2m of industrial development.

Had Everton decided to move its stadium from Goodison Park to Stonebridge Cross, it would have occupied 25 acres of the plot allocated to Stoford’s scheme.

Stoford has branded the site Liverpool 57, and is offering design-and-build units on freehold or leasehold terms, with industrial and warehouse space ranging from 86,000 sq ft to 1.1 million sq ft.

Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford Developments, said that confirmation of Everton’s decision means that the development of Liverpool 57 can now go ahead.

He said: “The project will generate significant inward investment to the city and provides businesses with design and build opportunities in an excellent location. We are excited at the opportunity to work alongside the council and play a key role in delivering its vision for the site.”

Colliers, Savills and CBRE are the agents at Liverpool 57.
