Stoford lodges plans for £200m Cheshire industrial

Just short of a year since unveiling the scheme, the developer has submitted its application to build 1.1m sq ft of employment space in Northwich.

Stoford’s scheme has a GDV of £200m and features units ranging from 100,000 sq ft to 600,000 sq ft on an 82-acre site adjacent to Gadbrook Park, near Junction 19 of the M6.

The proposals include a substation that Stoford says would significantly enhance energy supply to the site. An upgrade to the A556 junction is also planned.

Angus Huntley, director at Stoford, said: “Stoford Park Northwich represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unlock a site that has been allocated for employment for several years and has the potential to provide much needed supply in the North West.

“This is a scheme of real scale that can generate long-term economic benefits for Cheshire. We are committed to creating a high-quality and environmentally sustainable development that not only meets the needs of major occupiers but also delivers lasting value through new jobs, investment and regeneration.”

The professional team include Asteer Planning, UMC Architects, Wakemans, JPG, BWB, Rachel Hacking Ecology, Hoare Lea, FPCR, Andy Hamer, BSA Heritage, Tree Solutions, and Gateley. Wallis Real Estate and HCR Law advised the landowner.

DTRE is marketing the scheme to potential occupiers on a build-to-suit basis.

DTRE partner Andrew Lynn described the scheme as “one of the best connected” in the region.

Other North West Stoford schemes include the construction of a 667,000 sq ft logistics centre at Hooton Park Airfield in Ellesmere Port on behalf of Stellantis and 1.1m sq ft for THG at Manchester Airport City South.

I’d be interested to see the planned access, presumably not down the adjacent narrow country lane? And can someone tell Stoford its 6 miles from the M6!

6 miles to M6 junction 19 is considered near! plus The A556 dual carridgeway is next door! think you need to read it properly next time!
