Stockport property agencies merge
Buckley Commercial and Fairhurst Estates have merged to become Fairhurst Buckley, in a move to expand their service offering and geographic reach.
Fairhurst Estates offers a range of building services including valuations, property management, building consultancy and residential surveys, while Buckley Commercial specialises in commercial sales and lettings.
The move comes amid a “considerable groundswell of activity” in Stockport as investment pours into the town, the merged company said.
Current schemes in the pipeline for Stockport include the extension of the Metrolink, the £120m Stockport Interchange redevelopment, and various residential schemes such as Capital & Centric’s plans to bring forward 300 apartments at Weir Mill.
Buckley Commercial and Fairhurst Estates were set up in 2003 and 2001 respectively.
Under the merger, Nigel Blyth, head of Fairhurst, will take the role of managing director of the new company, while Buckley founder David Buckley becomes director.
Buckley’s five members of staff have moved from its previous headquarters in Cheadle to Fairhurst’s offices at Acorn Business Park. A total of 20 staff have moved from Fairhurst taking the total workforce to 25.
Blyth said: “Fairhurst Buckley brings together two long standing and highly respected Stockport commercial property advisers under one roof.
“We can now provide the highest quality advice and an unrivalled spread of property expertise to our clients throughout Stockport and the rest of the UK…Both companies have many long-standing clients who can benefit from our extended range of services.”
Buckley added: “Stockport is very much on an upward trajectory and, as this is our home, we are looking forward to playing an even bigger part in the town’s ongoing success and development, by providing a broader range of property related services, locally.
“For the immediate future we will consolidate our position as the largest independent surveying firm in Stockport and across South Manchester and build from there, expanding our services offer and our geographic reach.”
