St Modwen publishes plans for Skelmersdale

St Modwen's detailed proposals for Skelmersdale town centre, including nearly 500,000 sq ft of retail and leisure, have gone out for public consultation.

If the community and West Lancashire council approve the plans, St Modwen will build 250,000 sq ft of core retail, a 100,000 sq ft out-of-town retail park, a 90,000 sq ft food store and 20,000 sq ft cinema.

The 250-acre site would also feature 1,150 homes, 10% of which will be so-called affordable units.

St Modwen expects to submit a planning application in autumn 2009.

Cushman & Wakefield is letting agent.
