Sportswear brand doubles footprint at Manchester Arndale
Foot Locker will open a 14,000 sq ft store at the shopping centre’s Halle Place next year as it relocates from a smaller unit on Market Street.
The split-level store will open in 2020 and will be nearly double the size of Foot Locker’s existing 7,400 sq ft unit on the Arndale’s Market Street frontage.
Halle Place, an £11m food and retail hall completed by contractor ISG, features several restaurants along with retail space, with tenants including Barburitto and Archie’s.
Foot Locker’s deal follows the opening of fellow fashion brand All Saints at the Arndale, while in July, two established Arndale retailers, Games Workshop and Clinton Cards, agreed new 10-year leases and store relocations.
Manchester Arndale is owned jointly by M&G Real Estate and Intu. The retained agents are Time Retail Partners and Metis Real Estate Advisors.
Colin Flinn, regional managing director at Intu, said: “Foot Locker’s commitment to Manchester Arndale, doubling its store footprint with a new and innovative experience-led store, is testament to the centre’s continued popularity and reputation amongst retailers.
“Foot Locker’s expansion reinforces Manchester Arndale as one of the north’s leading fashion hubs. In recent months, we have seen a number of leading brands join our line-up, creating an impressive mix of clothing and footwear options to suit all tastes.”
